Dr. Shireen Rahimi

Underwater protagonist, director, writer, and editor.

Dr. Rahimi is an Iranian/American filmmaker, marine scientist, freediving cinematographer, National Geographic Explorer, and founder of Lightpalace Productions, a full-service production company based in Miami. Dr. Rahimi’s work has a distinct style: it’s influenced by Iranian poetry and art, imbued with a finger-on-the-pulse music and editing style, and is deeply informed by her research as a marine anthropologist. She has been featured as a contributor on National Geographic Sharkfest, and was named Nautica’s newest ocean conservation Wavemaker. Her work has been featured in National Geographic, The Nature Conservancy, ABC, PBS, Sierra Magazine, and film festivals around the word. With every aspect of her practice, Dr. Rahimi is dedicated to telling stories that encourage action and healing around our current moment of ecological crisis.

Phoebe Fitz

Director of Photography

Phoebe Fitz is an artist specializing in underwater portraiture and cinematography. Growing up by the warm South Florida ocean, Phoebe developed a deep appreciation for the marine enviromnent that surrounded her childhood. Her career began in natural history film-making working alongside her father Tom, an Emmy-award winning videographer, on productions for National Geographic, the BBC, Netflix, and PBS, among others. Her current work focuses on the human experience in water, in addition to nature and documentary projects.

Phoebe utilizes the elements of weightlessness, reflections, and distortion in her photographs to provide a different way of looking at oneself and the world. She uses her images as a way to explore our collective relationship with water, and speak to how vital this connection is to our survival.


Ivan Williams

Executive Producer

Ivan Williams is a narrative film, tv, theater and documentary producer with a passion for the arts, social impact, science and technology. He is a partner and executive at a leading story development called Scenario Entertainment. Ivan is known for his work on the romantic-comedy “Big Stone Gap” (starring Ashley Judd, Whoopi Goldberg, and Patrick Wilson), the hit web tv series “Be Here Nowish, Season 2,” the Broadway musical “First Date” (starring Zachary Levi, and Krysta Rodriguez), the Geena Davis executive produced documentary about gender misrepresentation in Hollywood called “This Changes Everything”, the thriller “M.F.A.” (starring Francesca Eastwood, and Clifton Collins Jr.), and the 50th anniversary exploration of the Woodstock Art and Music Festival documentary called “Creating Woodstock”. In the area of climate change, Ivan is the co-founder of two not-for-profits that leverage the power of art and computing technology to illuminate ecological issues. Ivan is a member of the Producers Guild of America.

Chrissy Lucy

Producer, Associate Director & Costume Designer

Chrissy Lucy is a Creative Director, Producer and Designer. She’s worked on projects ranging from fashion, entertainment, art, conservation, and design in both New York and Miami. Chrissy specializes in the intersection between environmental conservation and the creative industries. She is passionate about using the power of visual storytelling to drive impact and create emotional connections– the primary driving force behind her recent work.

Before transitioning her career focus to climate awareness, Chrissy worked in the New York fashion industry for nearly a decade. She directed and produced for notable brands such as Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch. She’s done creative work for music videos, TV, film, and editorial. Her work has been featured in publications such as Vogue, Forbes, and Harper’s Bazaar. Chrissy has also produced large scale events from NY Fashion week to Salone Del Mobile in Milan.

Dr. Jennifer Adler

Underwater Photographer, Springs Scientific Advisor

Jennifer Adler is a conservation photographer and underwater photojournalist. Her work is informed by her scientific background, and she uses her imagery to communicate science and conservation. She has a degree in marine biology from Brown University and a PhD in interdisciplinary ecology from the University of Florida. She specializes in underwater photography and is a trained freediver and cave diver. An ongoing theme in her work is the connection between people and water in a changing climate. Her grant-funded and assignment work has taken her all over the world to document science and conservation for The Nature Conservancy, National Geographic, Huffington Post, Vox, and the International Women's Media Foundation. Jenny is a freelance photojournalist represented by National Geographic Image Collection.

Andrésio

Original Score

Andrésio is a multi-instrumentalist and music producer based in Los Angeles. He has produced for esteemed talents like No I.D., Quiñ, and 6LACK. He has experience with scoring narrative films and will be composing an original score for LFTAE, using Persian music elements and contemporary aspects of trap and R&B.

Ian Segebarth

Safety Diver

Ian Segebarth is photographer, filmmaker, and guide, and has spent the past decade traveling and exploring in over 50 countries, covering every continent. He is also a contributing photographer for National Geographic Magazine and HuffPost, and his film work has appeared on Discovery Channel and BBC.
